No trip to the Shark Bay area is complete without a sensational seafood dinner at The Old Pearler the most western restaurant in Australia built out of big blocks of shell with its tables and window frames from railways and shearing sheds of yesteryear expect top notch friendly service and the majority of the seafood from its doorstep, you cannot go wrong. Just like our previous visit too long ago I devoured the seafood platter featuring my fave rankin cod and chilli squid and Kylie enjoyed fish of the day which was you guessed it the mighty rankin cod. Excellent all round we even fit in the famous blue shark sundae then rolled out of the building and up to road back to our Monkey Mia stay. Being a small and cosy place make sure you book your table ahead of time or you may miss out.
This place it’s just so special. From the food, the building, its history, to Aleisha and her beautiful service.Everything blew our expectations out of the water.Do yourself a favor, VISIT!
Do yourself a favour, book here and treat yourself. This is one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Yes it’s pricey, but worth every cent, it ticks all the boxes, food, atmosphere and service. Loved our meal, thank you.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I must say it was an exceptional experience!First and foremost, the fish dishes are incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. You can truly taste the quality and care they put into preparing them. The steak is another standout—cooked to perfection, tender, and full of flavor. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting. The seafood platter was another highlight. It offered a great variety of fresh and flavorful seafood, making it a perfect choice for sharing. Every bite was a delight! The service was attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu. Highly recommended!
Amazing seafood platter for one (the squid especially - wow!) and the catch of the day was brilliant also, all big portions. Great steak and other meat or vegetarian options available too. Service was excellent and the food came quickly. Be sure to book in advance, it's a quaint restaurant. BYOB.Thank you! :)
It is impossible to put in words how beautiful the food was. The creamy chilli squid was nothing but delicate yet super flavoursome. The catch of the day Red Emperor was sweet and fresh with the lemon pepper and secret sauce from the chef simply outstanding! Portion size for a lunch meal was great.
This is one of Western Australia's hidden gems. Chef Wayne excelled in adjusting his recipes to suit the restrictions of low FODMAP. Aleisha runs a smooth friendly front house. Definitely a must do on anyones top dining experiences.
Amazing little intimate restaurant that is a must visit in Denham. The vegetarian lasagne was delicious. Great selection on the menu considering there’s only one chef. Great service and great to be able to have BYO with a bottle shop down the road so you can pop out to match if you would like. Bookings are essential!
